Josephine qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2013, where she was awarded the Gilmour Prize for Restorative Dentistry. Her Dental Foundation training was completed in Manchester in 2014. She is a member of the joint faculty of Dental Surgeons with the Royal College of Surgeons -MJDF (England).
In October 2018 she won the British Society of Periodontology Poster prize competition based on her work, “What is the heritability of Periodontitis? A systematic review”, which is now published in the Journal of Dental Research. She also published her work with Professor Nibali (head of the periodontal department of Kings College London) of “Periodontal status in children with primary immunodeficiencies” looking at susceptibility of periodontitis in children with health conditions affecting their immune system.
Josephine is a qualified Periodontist having received a Doctorate in Clinical Periodontology at Queen Mary University of London. She is a Periodontal member of both the Royal College of Edinburgh and Royal College of England. She joined the GDC’s specialist list in December 2020.
Her areas of expertise include:
- Severe periodontitis cases (Stage III/Stage IV, or unresolving BPEs of 3 or 4)
- Mucogingival surgeries (for recession defects)
- Crown lengthening (aesthetic or functional)
- Peri-implant disease
- Implant placements
